Last night was Alex's very first Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Race. He named his car the American Dart. It is the one painted patriotic. He had so much fun designing, building and painting his first car. Way to go Alex :)

Yay Alex! So glad to see the old derby track and everyone huddled around it! Harrison's derby was very techincal with a computerized start and track and timer. I didn't like it. You couldn't get close enough to get any good pictures of the races. No one could go near any of the fancy equipment. I was surprised our ward didn't have it's own track and we had to pay to have someone do it. Just another irritation with "big city" stuff. Can't just tell the secretary at school you're taking your kid, you have to check them out on a computer, even though they are all sitting right there. Can't get a hold of a doctor or nurse if you life depended on it! Sorry. Just ranting today. I like it here, just civilization is funny sometimes!
